Welcome to Stone Gables
The history of the Paso Fino began in Spain when the Berber was bred with the Jennet, a smooth gaited horse, now extinct. These horses were then bred with the Andalusians to produce many of the horses brought to the New World by the Spanish conquistators. The remarkably comfortable smooth gait of the Jennet became the sought after trait in breeding. The result of this blend became known as the Paso Fino breed - Los Caballos de Paso Fino - the horse with the fine step. |
